Alice Springs local, Kate Lawrence was a regular Big Singer at Big Sing in the Desert and, for a number of years, helped with grant writing and with logistics for remote community singers.
When asked which is her favourite song from over the ten years, she said, “For me it is Sing You. The harmonies are magnificent and it has a great tenor part [Kate sings tenor!]. I love the way the urgency of the threat to our environment, to our waterways is expressed in such a heartfelt way. The music and lyrics come together to express the fragility of our land and water, and the desperate need to care for them now.”
