The campground is about 10 minutes walk from the main homestead at Ross River Homestead where Big Sing in the Desert was held each year. Some of the Kungkas (women helpers) camp there and can have a catch up or get organised for the day, over a cuppa after the dawn chorus is over, and the very loud black tailed cockatoos have left for the day.
